Two arrested for selling bath salts
KINGSTON, N.Y. -- Multiple undercover operations lead to the arrest of two people police say were selling synthetic drugs known as bath salts from Head to Toe Apparel in Kingston.
Kingston Police, along with the Drug Enforcement Agency, arrested Kevin Hartrum, 55, of Kingston, and Teresa Greene, 52, of Marion, New York, for conspiracy to distribute over $100,000 worth of the drugs.
Police tell us more than once, an informant and undercover officer purchased drugs from the store, were instructed on how to use them and taught how to profit from their resale.
Officials say Hartrum owns the store and police say Greene has worked at the store with Hartrum since at least late 2011.
Both Hartrum and Greene were arraigned in White Plains federal court and face up to 20 years in prison, a one million dollar fine and supervised release for life if convicted.
