It was an emotional Saturday for friends and families of three cousins involved in a fatal car accident in Nassau. YNN's Madeleine Rivera has the story.

NASSAU, N.Y. -- "She was a free spirit, loved to hang out, have fun," said Felicia Sitterly.

A community in Rensselaer County fondly remembered a teen who died in an accident Saturday morning.

It happened along Route 20 in Nassau. Marian Hubbard, 20, was driving with her cousins, Nicole Hubbard, 19, and Alicia Hubbard, 18. According to State Police, Marian crossed into the opposite lane and struck the guardrail, causing the car to flip several times.

Alicia was thrown out of the car and pronounced dead at the scene. Marian and Nicole were taken to Albany Medical Center.

"I didn't think she would go so young," said Sitterly, who was good friends with Alicia in high school.

"She didn't deserve it at all. It's hard for me and my family. My family knows her family," said Sitterly.

Police said alcohol was a factor, and they're also investigating if the passengers were wearing their seatbelts.

Police have charged Marian Hubbard with DWI. They said at this point they're not sure where the alcohol came from.

As the investigation continues, friends hope for a better turn of events.

"Marian, I feel sorry for. She needs to figure why, what happened. She needs to get well. We can't lose two people. We lost one. We can't lose her," said Sitterly.

Police are asking the public to come forward if they have any information about the accident.
