TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A Fishkill teen has been charged in connection with a fatal crash in the Town of Poughkeepsie on Feb. 8.

According to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department Traffic Enforcement Unit, it was determined that the 18-year-old driver failed to reduce her speed during bad weather and hazardous road conditions on East Cedar Street. She lost control of her car and hit a pedestrian, 74-year-old Muril Hancock, who was killed in the accident.

She is charged with failure to reduce speed during special hazards and is scheduled to appear in town court at a later date.
