MONTICELLO, N.Y. -- It's a story that could have gone the other way and been an end to a football career but through hardwork and determination, it's not over.

Monticello star quarterback Shane Jackson put pen to paper on Thursday committing to play Division II football at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire.

Jackson was a threat to any Section IX defense he faced. Between his sophomore and junior years, he amassed more than 2,000 yards passing, 1,500 yards rushing, and had 57 total touchdowns.

Jackson was out his entire senior year with an ACL injury but support for him never diminished, and he's thankful for everyone who stayed by his side.

"Before, we were over at the Summerville field. It was just packed full of fans, just screaming my name and stuff like that. So I really give it up to them because they helped me to work hard and also my parents. They've been there from the very beginning. I'm really thankful for them to have great support. My brother's always there, great support. I met the coaches there, head coach, the players. Everything right there was just so heart warming. Just to see how personable they were or how bad they really wanted me on their team and how much of a difference they said I could make on their team," said Jackson.
