Teen arrested for three residential burglaries

NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- A City of Newburgh teen was arrested after police say he was connected to three separate residential burglaries.

According to police, 17-year-old Eric McCullum was located on Courtney Avenue, but ran when police tried to detain him early Friday morning. Police say after a short chase McCullum was arrested. He's facing three burglary charges.

According to police, McCullum was also arrested back on February 7th for robbery and attempted robbery when he attempted to rob a 37-year-old male who was walking home from the store. McCullum allegedly struck the victim with an unknown object. Police say he also took a purse from a 27-year-old female walking down the street.

Detectives say they are now looking into whether McCullum was involved in other crimes.
