ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. -- An Orange County legislator announced her run for County Executive. Roxanne Donnery made it official Friday after announcing her intention to run for the position.

Donnery represents district 14 and has served in the legislature for 15 years. She says she stands on a platform that calls for affordable taxes and attention to business development. The democrat is also hoping for improved communication.

“I believe people have lost faith in our government, and particularly lost faith in the administration existing now. There’s no longer trust,” said Roxanne Donnery, Orange County Executive Candidate.

Donnery said that she opposes current Executive Ed Diana's plans to sell Valley View and build a new government center. She is the only Democrat in the race thus far. Diana has not yet officially announced whether he'll be entering the race. Regardless, there will be a primary for the GOP line, as town supervisors Steve Neuhaus of Chester and Michael Sweeton of Warwick have already announced that they'll be running.
