VATICAN CITY -- Pope Benedict the 16th delivered his last remarks as the head of the Catholic Church.
He told a crowd of thousands in Saint Peter's Square that he'll be taking up a life of prayer.
Earlier this month, he announced his resignation, which is goes into effect February 28.
Rumors around the reason for the resignation include the cover up of a gay conclave.
The Vatican has denied these rumors.
