WALLKILL, N.Y. – Wallkill's Police Chief is facing a second sexual harassment lawsuit from a female officer.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court in White Plains Friday, names Wallkill Police Chief Robert Hertman and the Town of Wallkill.
Officer Sally Collazo alleges in the spring of 2009 that Chief Hertman started showing interest in her, making her feel uncomfortable. The suit states that he would pair up with her at youth events as if they were on a date.
The lawsuit says when Collazo deflected Chief Hertman's advances, he retaliated by assigning her to foot patrols in high-crime areas and delayed presenting her application for work-related disability to the town.
YNN's reached out to Chief Hertman and the Wallkill Police Department, but at this time, they have not returned our calls.
