HUDSON VALLEY, N.Y. -- It's going to cost a little bit more to get to and from New York City using the MTA. Starting this weekend, fare hikes for several modes of transportation across the MTA system will go into effect.
Starting on Friday, Metro-North riders will see an eight to nine percent increase on rail tickets, depending on ticket type and the distance traveled.
Subway and bus fares are going up from $2.25 to $2.50 starting on Sunday and those who drive the MTA's bridges and tunnels will see anywhere from a 53 cent increase to a dollar, depending on whether you use EZ Pass.
