ULSTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A fire broke out at a home on Quaker Street in Plattekill.

A neighbor called in the fire around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday and fire crews arrived within minutes. Fire crews say there were heavy flames coming out of the roof upon arrival.

According to officials, no one was home at the time and the home did end up collapsing due to the fire. No one was injured, but the home has been deemed a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials believe it may have started in the attic and then spread.
